Sarah Ikumu entered Britain’s Got Talent with modesty, humility, and an optimistic outlook.
Sarah began singing at age 5 when she joined her father’s church choir. Her family is Kenyan. Her parents fully supported her on her big debut.
Simon initially disapproved of Sarah’s choice of Jennifer Hudson’s powerful ballad “You’re Gonna Love Me”. She persevered, and Simon and the crowd were silent.
Sarah sang one of the most difficult songs in musical history flawlessly and with her own distinct style. The 15-year-old played with control, maturity, and musicality recalling of the greatest musicians.
Simon was enthralled by the scene and banged the golden buzzer, recognizing Sarah’s great skill.
