Customers Lose Their Cool Over a Simple Door Sign, But the Restaurant’s Response Is Brilliant

You might have heard about discounts for veterans, but did you know that a KFC store in Ohio has started offering free meals to police officers? It’s a way to show gratitude to the men and women who work hard to keep our society safe and orderly.

No matter the time or day, this KFC welcomes officers in uniform to dine for free. Originally, it was just a way to give a discount to local cops, but it’s gained a lot of attention online.

The buzz began when someone shared a photo of the store’s sign on a Facebook page called “Ohio Going Blue.” People had mixed reactions. Some wondered if it was necessary to offer free meals to the police, while others, including some officers, preferred not to get special treatment and were happy to pay.

One comment on the Facebook page summed it up well: “This is a positive post, but some of you can’t see the bigger picture. As an officer, I do not go into any place expecting ANYTHING to be free if I’m in uniform or not. There are other officers who feel the same way. We don’t want ‘special treatment.’ The reason for the post is because KFC is acknowledging law enforcement. To those who say other first responders should also be acknowledged, my answer? ABSOLUTELY.”

Despite all the attention in the media, the KFC store plans to keep the sign up. It’s a simple way to salute the officers who put their lives on the line every day to keep us safe.
