30 Years Later: A Glimpse of Actress Alisan Porter, the Beloved “Curly Sue”

Actress Alisan Porter, known for her adorable role in the beloved 1990s lyrical comedy “Curly Sue,” has undergone some notable changes over the past three decades. The film itself garnered immense popularity, attracting a dedicated fan base of comedy enthusiasts in the United States, with an average of over 10 million viewers annually.

However, while James Belushi, who played Bill in the movie, continues to enjoy widespread popularity, the young and endearing starlet seems to have remained somewhat elusive, making her mark in the industry at the tender age of 9. Fast forward to the present, and Alison Porter is now 42 years old, having experienced significant life events along the way.

Alisan became a mother to a handsome son and a sweet daughter during her marriage to soap opera actor Brian Otenrit. However, their relationship eventually came to an end, leading Alisan to embark on a new journey with dancer Justine De Vera in 2018. Together, they welcomed their precious daughter, Shiloh.

Having decided to pursue a different artistic path, the actress made the transition from film production to music. In 2003, she joined the band Raz, and later, in 2016, she found herself on Christina Aguilera’s team while participating in the popular show “The Voice.” Alison discovered a sense of comfort and fulfillment in singing, surpassing her passion for acting. We can only hope for continued success as she follows her true passion in the world of music.
