Babies can be quite fussy and start crying without caring whether they’re in a public place or while their parents are working from home. Dealing with such situations can be challenging for parents. However, there’s one dad who knows exactly how to calm his child down, thanks to his impressive beatboxing skills. A video shared on Reddit by u/Obdex_code showcases this dad beginning to record a video and introducing himself as “Helium.” Apparently, he was auditioning for the Great Beatbox Battle in 2023.
In the video, as the crying child becomes fussy again, the dad politely asks for two minutes and then starts beatboxing in front of the camera. Surprisingly, as soon as he begins, the child falls completely silent. It seems like the child is well aware of their parent’s incredible talent. The music hits all the right notes, sounding nearly perfect. However, once the beatboxing stops, the child starts crying again. The video has already received 8.5k upvotes on Reddit and is captioned as “Beatboxing calms the baby down.”
Helium’s beatboxing skills have left people amazed. Comments poured in from impressed viewers. u/Jaded-Zucchini8046 exclaimed, “Awesome skills. That calmed me down also.” u/WuickyViper26 remarked, “Wow, it’s so clean and clear! I can hear all the different elements going on simultaneously. No wonder the baby was calm! So much talent!” u/monokutho couldn’t believe it, saying, “I can’t tell if it’s real because it’s just too good. Unbelievable.” u/brwnbOmber shared their own experience, saying, “When my daughter was born, I used to do the same thing. She would look at me with the most confused expression. Lol.” u/JerachoD expressed their delight, stating, “This really made me smile. What a cool guy and incredibly talented.”
The original video can be found on Helium’s YouTube channel, @Helium_Beatbox. In the video’s description, Helium shares the story behind its creation. He explains that he spent five days recording his Wildcard in a professional studio but found it challenging to hit the right notes. Frustrated, he considered redoing it entirely. However, on the sixth day, while babysitting his daughter, he decided to record a wildcard in his kitchen using his phone, just for fun. To his surprise, the video turned out to be adorable, and he effortlessly hit all the notes perfectly. After that experience, he didn’t feel like recording anything else because he knew he couldn’t recreate that same atmosphere.
Dads like Helium are the ones who establish a special bond with their children from an early age and continue nurturing those relationships throughout their lives. Helium’s exceptional talent not only brings comfort to his child but also allows him to pass on his skills.
