Imagine spending 400 days in a noisy dog shelter. That’s how long Queen, a sweet terrier mix, stayed at the Great Plains SPCA in Merriam, Kansas. Despite her lovable nature, Queen was repeatedly overlooked. Animal activist Scott Poore, who runs an organization called “Mission Driven,” couldn’t bear to see Queen depressed anymore.
He decided to raise awareness by moving into Queen’s kennel and lived with her for seven days and nights. Scott hardly slept due to the constant barking and Queen’s desire to play. Fortunately, a father and son from Kansas City saw the story and decided to adopt Queen.
Scott couldn’t adopt her himself since he encounters needy animals regularly. He finds solace in quickly moving on to help the next animal in need. Scott’s selfless act serves as a reminder of the importance of advocating for voiceless animals.
