Biker Group Grants Great-Grandmother’s 90th Birthday Wish to Ride a Harley-Davidson Again: Photos and Video

Barbara Morris, a 90-year-old great-grandmother from Manchester, had her birthday wish fulfilled when she rode on the back of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, reliving her younger days as a motorcycle enthusiast. Morris, who acquired her first motorcycle license as a teenager in the 1950s, had mentioned to her family years before that if she reached 90, she would like to get back in the saddle once again.

Her sons and a local biker group surprised her by taking her on a ride around town before stopping at a pub. Morris, who was wearing a dress, was not bothered about straddling the bike and said the ride made her feel young again.

It was made more exceptional for her as she had never been on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle before. Morris’s granddaughter, Kirsty Harvey, said Morris had a “daredevil spirit” and was not afraid of anything. The nursing home staff where Morris lives helped arrange the surprise by styling her hair and applying her makeup.

Morris described the experience as “incredible” as she felt the wind blowing in her face once again. Her family expressed their delight in fulfilling her dream.
