Watch: Hilarious Encounter Between Kenyan Journalist and Baby Elephant Caught on Camera

It’s not uncommon for journalists reporting in the wild to encounter unexpected animal encounters. While some reporters may try to keep their cool, others can’t resist interacting with these fascinating creatures.

Kenyan journalist Alvin Kaunda was one such reporter who recently found himself in a hilarious encounter with a baby elephant while reporting from the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Nairobi. In a viral video, the journalist can be seen trying to report on the devastating effects of human activity on the environment, while the playful elephant calf repeatedly interrupts him.

At first, Alvin tried to remain calm and focused on his job, but eventually, the baby elephant’s antics proved too much to resist. The young elephant even managed to stick its trunk in Alvin’s mouth, causing the journalist to burst out laughing.

Reflecting on the experience, Alvin explained that he wasn’t expecting to get so up close and personal with the baby elephants at the trust. However, he was impressed by the work that the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust does in caring for and raising young elephants before releasing them into the wild.

While it may be challenging for journalists to keep their cool in the face of such unexpected animal encounters, these moments offer a glimpse into the unique and fascinating world of wildlife. And who knows – sometimes, a playful animal might just provide the perfect moment of levity in an otherwise serious news report.
