While having a song in your brain can be annoying, watching a cockatiel with a song stuck in their throat is very entertaining. A video of a cockatiel owner’s pet bird whistling to Queen’s Another One Bites the Dust was uploaded. The song tribute from the cockatiel is even more poignant and enjoyable to watch because singer Freddie Mercury went away.
The stunning bird can be seen in the video resting on a Queen doll’s outstretched arm. Mercury and the bird make a striking couple, and the latter is donning a vivid yellow coat. The owner refers to Freddie as his bird’s hero in the title, but we ponder whether the doll’s extended arm might not make the ideal perch.
The cockatiel known as Mayacan enjoys singing, and this particular song is one of her favorites. The song is performed by the Mayacan people in the video a number of times over the course of several days. Mayacan can sing other songs, according to her owner, but it seems to prefer “Another One Bites the Dust” and “Radio Gaga.”
People can’t get enough of this crowd favorite after the Mayacan video went viral. Birds rarely sing through multiple songs; instead, they typically acquire and sing a few different melodies over the length of their lifetimes.
The amazing thing about this is Mayacan’s ability to alter the melody and pace of the original song as she pleases.
