Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been united in matrimony for the past six years.
By having two children, completely separating from the Royal Family, and relocating to the US, it is safe to say that the couple has set off on an unprecedented adventure.
It goes without saying that Meghan Markle’s marriage to Harry is not her first; she previously wed Trevor Engelson in 2011.
Just two years after Meghan and Trevor got divorced, she went on to become a major television star thanks to her work on the show Suits. While all was going on, Trevor continued his career in the entertainment industry.
What actually led to Meghan and Trevor’s divorce is still a mystery. However, a royal authority has recently claimed that Meghan’s divorce from him was not “out of the blue” and that there was a specific purpose for it.
What you need to know about Meghan Markle’s first marriage is provided below.
On August 4, 1981, in Los Angeles, California, Meghan Markle was born.
She was introduced to the entertainment industry at a young age thanks to her father, lighting director and Emmy winner Thomas Markle. Meghan frequently got to accompany her father on set.
It was a significant contrast for her to attend the all-girls Immaculate Heart High School in Los Angeles as opposed to working on set.
“I was on the set of Married with Children every day after school for ten years, which is a pretty weird and perverted place for a small girl in a Catholic school uniform to grow up,” she remarked.

Meghan pursued a communication degree at Northwestern University because she had a strong interest in the entertainment industry. She claims that despite “hating the thought of being this cliché a girl from L.A., she always wanted to perform. who chooses to pursue acting.”
She afterwards relocated to Illinois to study theater and international relations simultaneously at the famed Evanston school.
After she was granted a U.S. internship Markle considered pursuing a career in politics while she was working at the Argentinean Embassy. Even if her first career in show business wasn’t all that fantastic, the theater has always been her greatest goal.
While she was a student, Markle also went on auditions for television roles, but her first appearance was as a briefcase lady on the game program Deal or No Deal.
According to Meghan, “I was the unfortunate number 26 that nobody would ever choose.”

Meghan first met Trevor Engelson while she was just beginning her great acting career. He was born on October 23, 1976, in Great Neck, Long Island, New York, and went to the School of Communications at the University of Southern California.
Engelson entered the film industry as a production assistant and eventually worked his way up to become a producer. He has contributed to numerous projects, including the Robert Pattinson-starring movie Remember Me from 2006. Early in her acting career, his then-girlfriend Meghan Markle made a cameo appearance in his film.
Additionally, Trevor has worked on projects including License to Wed and All About Steve. Additionally, he served as executive producer on six episodes of the television adaptation of Heathers.

So how did Meghan Markle and Trevor meet? The Sun claims that their first encounter occurred in 2004. Before getting married in September 2011, the pair dated for around seven years. Their three-day wedding ceremony took held at the Jamaica Inn in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
Approximately 100 guests were invited to parties, beach drinking contests, breakfasts, and even a wheelbarrow race, according to The Sun. The ritual? That just took 15 minutes, I guess.
As previously noted, Meghan served as a model for a briefcase on the game program Deal or No Deal. Trevor, though, wasn’t too keen on seeing her when she was on set, according to the book Meghan: A Hollywood Princess by author Andrew Morton.
Apparently, this was because he was preoccupied with his profession as a producer, and even skipped out on traveling with Meghan during her leisure because of it. Morton claimed that Engelson didn’t visit her like other husbands or friends of the models did, which was “strange.”
They were motivated people, with Trevor being at least as busy as his fiancée, according to royal biographer Andrew Morton in Meghan: A Hollywood Princess.
“It was also notable that, in contrast to her Deal or No Deal sisters’ boyfriends and marriages, Trevor never paid Meghan a set visit. Because it was so odd, the other girls made comments about it.”
However, he continued, “there were lots of other celebrities, mostly sports players, who dropped by, some obviously attempting to get close and personal with the girls.
Meghan Markle made her television debut on the Suits television program in 2011, the same year that she wed Trevor. It was an immediate hit, and soon after that she went to Toronto because that was where the show was primarily filmed.
The five-hour travel required to see each other became a challenge for married life after Meghan accepted the role only months before she married Trevor. Despite staying in touch via video conversations, the difficult situation wasn’t resolved.

Up to 2018, Markle appeared in more than 100 episodes of Suits. However, she and Trevor Engelson had separated by 2013. At the time, the pair cited “irreconcilable issues.”
Later, Thomas, half-brother of Markle, said to Express that Trevor “worshipped the ground she walked on.”
An informant added, “Trevor was crushed about the separation.”
She found she had no time left for him. Simply put, Trevor’s heart was broken by Meghan. The news of her new relationship with Harry hurt him hard because he still loves her.
According to royal author Andrew Morton, Trevor was stunned by the separation, and Meghan even sent her engagement and wedding rings to him as an indication that their union was over.
“Meghan, who had claimed she couldn’t picture living without Trevor by her side, was now creating a new world for herself, whether she wanted to confess it to herself or not,” he wrote.
“He would frequently be late and unprepared for appointments.”
“As Toronto began to feel more like her home than LA, their relationship’s dynamics gradually changed. She was no longer dependent on her husband’s connections and was now living independently, meeting new friends both on and off the set.
In fact, it appears that Meghan and Trevor’s spat was extremely dramatic. In any event, Nikki Priddy, a friend from Meghan’s childhood, and Lady Colin Campbell appear to agree with this statement.
According to Campbell’s book Meghan and Harry: The Real Story, Meghan started hanging out with celebrities after relocating to Toronto, including celebrity stylist Jesica Mulroney.
The former Suits star was forced to cut ties with her ex-husband as a result.
According to Lady Colin Campbell, “Trevor had always been laid-back where she was controlled and dominating.”
“He might occasionally be a little late and unkempt for appointments, with his shirt hanging out of his pants and possibly some food on his lapel, but Meghan was always absolutely composed and well-groomed.”
Nikky Priddy, who served as Meghan’s maid of honor at her wedding to Trevor, claimed that Meghan believed her husband to be “embarrassing” for her reputation.
Colin Campbell further elaborated on this in her book, writing, “According to Nikki’s interpretation of Meghan’s motives, having found herself a new and more “classy” circle of friends, she did not wish to be burdened with her embarrassing misfit of a husband or even her old and less Establishment circle of friends.
Meghan hasn’t made any public comments regarding her divorce from Trevor Engelson. However, it’s interesting to note that her ex-whole husband’s narrative may soon be revealed to royal admirers.
A new book by author Tom Bower on Meghan Markle is due to be published. He vowed to conduct more interviews with Trevor Engelson in an interview with Closer.
Because he would have first-hand knowledge of what it was like to be married for the first time to the Suits actress, Bower added that this specific person would certainly have a fantastic narrative.
