9-year-old Amira Willighagen learned how to sing by viewing certain YouTube videos. But the self-taught soprano managed to land an audition on Holland’s Got Talent in 2013 thanks to her love of opera.
She utterly floored the judges and the crowd with her rendition of “O Mio Babbino Caro,” earning her a “Golden Ticket” to move on to the show’s final round.
With 50% of the viewers’ votes, the young Dutch singer went on to win the entire competition.
Because of her abilities, Amira was able to advance her career and become famous. In February 2014, she began work on her own album, Amira, and by June 2015, her YouTube channel had received more than 36 million views.
According to Wikipedia, she donates half of the proceeds from the sale of her record to a nonprofit that creates playgrounds for underprivileged kids.
Amira received invites to play with notable performers, such as the Neapolitan-Austrian vocalist Patrizio Buanne, as a result of her exceptional operatic singing. The video of her singing “O Sole Mio” with Buanne at the Classics is Groot concert in South Africa last summer shows why she swiftly gained notoriety.
She has talents that would make you believe she has been a skilled performer for years, and she is very gifted!
