Willie Nelson, who lives on a ranch in Texas and is known for his iconic country music, is also a kind and compassionate person. He and his wife live on the estate, along with other animals he’s previously saved from meat industry.
2019’s KSAT 12 of ABC found that Willie Nelson maintained a nearly 700-acre property in the Texas Hill Country, distant from the spotlight. According to the news source, the well-known celebrity named his ranch “Luck” ranch.
People felt they were in luck when they were on the land but out of it when they weren’t, according to Nelson, which is how it got its moniker. More than 70 horses were roaming the land when the country singer owned it.
The majority of animals, according to the news channel, were saved before going to the slaughterhouses. The singer argued that the horses were most likely the world’s “luckiest,” saying:
They are happy horses since they are hand-fed twice daily and were likely just about to be killed when they last remembered being alive.
The Country Music Hall of Fame member published an open letter in 2021 in an effort to raise awareness of the condition of wild horses. To assure the protection of the creatures, he called for legislative action.
KSAT 12 paid Nelson a visit on his ranch in 2019 to observe the horses that were still at the property. The co-founder of Farm Aid has been saving horses and allowing them to live freely, just like in the wild, for years.
Fans of the artists caught peeks of his Texan ranch when they were on tour. The property appeared to have a lot of open space, grass for the animals to graze on, and what appeared to be a wooden stable.
In addition to saving the horses, Nelson appeared to care deeply about them as he stroked and fed one of the animals through a wooden fence. The horse seemed to submit to the star’s tender touch as though it understood the lengths the star had gone to preserve it.
The musician gave his interviewer and the camera team coffee inside his house. Nelson was always a courteous host and served them refreshments anytime they visited, according to the news station’s interviewer.
The musician’s kitchen appeared homey and uncomplicated, lacking the trappings typical of other Hollywood celebrities. In one picture, Nelson was seen with two other people in a signed photo, and other photos were all over the place.
It seems like there was a sitting room next to the kitchen where some of the interview took place. Nelson sat down with his interviewer at a table and numerous wooden chairs in the room.
The flooring was constructed of light brown wooden panels, and the walls were painted a grayish green color. During an interview for the Austin Fit Magazine cover story in 2012, the artist displayed more of his Tennessee property.
More of the property’s structures were visible to fans, and Nelson demonstrated his physical fitness by riding a bicycle there. The celebrity also explained how he raised hens and produced produce on his property.
He was seen sitting at an outdoor table with a selection of fresh food in one image. The musician could be seen in another photo taken by the tabloid sitting in a pew that appeared to be part of a wooden church.
On the estate, the celebrity also had a dam or a watering hole. The country music performer was already close to 90 years old in 2022, and his lifestyle had a significant role in his longevity.
Nelson was 87 years old in February 2021 and two months away from turning 88. The musician revealed his straightforward longevity secret in an interview with the Wall Street Journal, saying:
“You need to look for yourself if you want to live a long time.”
The legendary country singer said, “You pay for the day, every day.” He reminded his audience that if something wasn’t used, it would be lost and advised them to become accustomed to moving around.

“Music is what I do; I don’t even want to consider retiring at this point.”

Billy tragically departed suddenly in 1991, but not long before he did, he and his father collaborated on the song “My Body’s Just a Suitcase for My Soul.” Nelson loved spending time with his kids so much that he wrote songs about several of them.
The singer discovered Renee in 2012, according to his memoirs “Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die.” He described how he had lost contact with Mary Haney, a beloved old friend, but that when they reconnected years later, she revealed the existence of their daughter!
