Pauley Perrette is disclosing that she had a “massive stroke” the previous year.
The former NCIS star posted a video to social media on Friday with the comment, “It’s 9/2.” One year ago, I suffered a severe stroke. Before that, I had lost a lot of close relatives and friends, my father, and then my cousin Wayne. Despite the horrible life I have thus far been handed, I am still a survivor… And STILL HERE, still so appreciative, still so full of faith!
In the video, Perrette spoke to her fans and discussed the “one year anniversary” of her stroke.
“Yes, I’m back and I’m here. She said, “Like how many times do I trick death. “Like I had a hair coloring allergy and almost passed away. I am a victim of rape and domestic violence, and I also have food allergies. I survived being attacked by an insane homeless person and am still alive. Particularly for all of my nearby rescue pets, I’m feeling quite grateful. And I’m still here, and I’m in high spirits. In the past two years, I’ve experienced a lot. There are challenges that are more difficult than having a stroke, yet I’m still alive and glad.”
After 15 seasons as forensic expert Abby Sciuto on the CBS drama, Perrette confirmed in 2017 that she would be leaving the show. The actress denied rumors that she was leaving the show by saying that her decision had been made a year earlier and was “not due to a non-existent skin-care line or schism” with the network or her co-stars. At the time, Perrette tweeted, “I hope everyone will adore and enjoy EVERYTHING ABBY not only for the remainder of this season but for everything she has given all of us for 16 years. “I adore her as much as you do. All the love, all the fun, all the inspiration.”
