Jennifer had a crush on Donny when she was young.
On April 17, the beautiful Jennifer Garner turned 50. But the actress got to celebrate a little early when Donny Osmond, the famous person she had a crush on when she was young, decided to surprise her.
Garner posted about the moment on Instagram. At the time, she was in a restaurant and watching a personalized video message from Osmond, who is 64 years old.
She didn’t know that Osmond was sneaking up on her from behind.
Garner was moved by the video greeting, but her day was about to get better when she heard, “Jennifer! “Happy birthday!”
Garner got up and hugged Osmond right away, trying not to cry as the singer held up a birthday cake that said “13 Going on 50! Love him!”
The “Alias” actress wrote in the video’s caption, “My first (pre)birthday surprise was a doozy: the one and only, legendary in his own time, and object of my childhood love and devotion, @donnyosmond, showed up to knock my purple socks off.”
As he sang to the happy actress, Osmond smiled and sang some of his hits with her, including “Make the World Go Away.”
Garner sat next to the singer and smiled and laughed the whole time.
Garner wrote, “He took an hour and a half out of his day to sit with me, sing my favorite songs, and teach me how to be a class act.” “Thanks, Donny,” he said.
Garner also gave a shout out to Osmond’s former stage partner and sister, Marie, as well as to his wife, Debbie.
Osmond posted Garner’s video on his own Instagram page with his own message, which included an invitation.
“One of my favorite things to do is to surprise fans, so when I had the chance to surprise the lovely @jennifer.garner for her 50th birthday, I was thrilled,” the singer wrote. “Thank you for letting me join your party! Come see me at @harrahsvegas the next time you’re in Vegas and you can be my special guest on stage.”
“This really is the best surprise that could ever happen! How happy!!!” Rita Wilson said.
“This is crazy,” Gwyneth Paltrow wrote.
Garner shows that even famous people can have crushes on other famous people and have fan girl moments.
In the late 1970s, “Donny & Marie” was a huge hit in the United States. Osmond was a famous teen heartthrob who had thousands of female fans all over the world.
And Garner was one of them.
Garner grew up in West Virginia. She was the middle child, and both of her parents worked. On Sundays, they went to church, and when she was young, she took ballet lessons.
She had to get a job when she wanted to become an actress.
