Gruffydd Wyn Roberts, 22, experienced a complete emotional rollercoaster during his audition for Britain’s Got Talent. In fact, Simon Cowell raised his arm to stop him from singing the song just a few seconds after he started.
Gruffydd’s audition, in the most unbelievable turn of events, finished with the best response a competitor could get: The Golden Buzzer award!

When Gruffydd approached the BGT judges, he seemed like an ordinary guy. He worked as a theater assistant and came from Anglesey, a Welsh island where he resided with his grandmother.
Like a lot of the other contenders, Gruffydd had a rocky history. He acknowledged to the judges that one of the reasons he stayed with his grandmother was because he didn’t meet his father until he was 16 years old.
Nevertheless, it seems that Gruffydd at least had a support system despite his heartbreaks. He had supporters roaring for him the entire time in the audience, and you could tell it.
Rugby player and singer Gruffydd declared that he would perform for the judges. But it’s doubtful that anyone anticipated the kind of vocals that would be coming from his mouth.
It turns out that the 20-something truly has a golden voice and a gift for singing opera!
But after just a few sentences, poor Gruffydd experienced the worst possible scenario for every competitor. The music stopped when Simon raised his arm in the air.
It must have been difficult to hear Simon tell Gruffydd that he believed his performance sounded “cold” and “mechanical.” He would get a second chance to sing a different song from the adjudicator.

Gruffydd decided to sing “Nessun Dorma” by Giacomo Puccini on his subsequent attempt. This time, however, something was different—he appeared to be much more at ease as he let go with his commanding voice.
The audience could also see the better performance, which made them applaud for Gruffydd when he was saved. His voice is so exquisite that it gives you chills.
He briefly pauses at one point, almost as though emotion had overcome him. Gruffydd wasn’t going to give up, though. He delivers the next lyrics with such fervor that it causes a standing ovation from everyone.

Gruffydd had no idea that the best was yet to come.
He trembled like a leaf when he saw how everyone responded. It’s also understandable because you don’t encounter a large audience of cheering spectators every day.

Sadly, Gruffydd did not win the BGT championship that year, but it did help him begin his musical career. He is currently touring the world with his incredible voice.
