Less than a month before Aerosmith was scheduled to resume their Las Vegas engagement, Tyler relapsed.
Steven Tyler, the lead singer of Aerosmith, has left rehabilitation.
Following a relapse after ten years of sobriety, the band revealed in May that Tyler had checked himself into a treatment center. His recovery is now complete, according to an Aerosmith representative.
The representative reports that “he’s doing incredibly well and is eager to get back on stage.” According to reports, the musician departed the facility last week after serving longer than the minimum 30 days.
Less than a month before Aerosmith was scheduled to resume their Las Vegas engagement, Tyler, 74, relapsed.
Tyler willingly enrolled in a treatment center, according to a statement from the rockers, in order to “focus on his health and recovery.” They revealed in the statement that Tyler relapsed following foot surgery to preparation for performing on stage and the associated pain treatment.
With plans to resume performances in September, the band postponed appearances in June and July.
At the time, Aerosmith wrote, “We are devastated that we have inconvenienced so many of you, especially our most devoted fans who frequently travel considerable distances to see our gigs.
Tyler has shared details of his sober path, including his disastrous treatment attempts in the 1980s and Aerosmith’s early years of wild partying.
Tyler remarked, “I don’t think any bands even knew what sober was. “I was unable to do enough. I was unable to rise high enough.”
He became sober in 1988 after his bandmates and management organized an intervention.
“They believed that if the lead singer became clean, all of their issues would be resolved. I eventually became sober, but it took me a long time to get over them sending me to rehab while they were on vacation “According to Tyler, Haute Living But today, as a result of that time, I am appreciative of them and owe them a debt of gratitude for my sobriety.
After 2009, Tyler maintained his sobriety, a feat for which he has expressed “extreme pride.”
The announcement of the rocker’s discharge from rehab coincides with the 55-year-old death of drummer Joey Kramer’s wife of 13 years. Hewlett-former Packard’s contract administrator Linda passed away on June 22, according to a representative for the singer. There was no information yet about the cause of death.
In late March, Joey said he would not be performing with Aerosmith when they resume their Deuces Are Wild residency in Las Vegas this summer, citing family as the reason for his “temporary leave of absence” from the band.
