Jayden Fontenot, 10, struggles to comprehend the gravity of his actions on the day his mother went into labor early.
When his mother went into early labor and was bleeding severely, he was simply following his mother’s instructions.
Ashly Moreau, who was pregnant at the time, awoke on a Friday morning in 2018 and went to the bathroom.
At 34 weeks, everything seemed normal, but when she looked down, she spotted two objects that surprised her. For starters, Ashly noticed that the water had just broken. As if that wasn’t enough, she could see her two purple feet protruding from her body.
Ashly Moreau’s baby was in the breech position, her husband had gone to work, and his grandmother, who lived nearby, had recently undergone back surgery and was unable to walk. She dialed 911, as Jayden stayed calm and carried out his mother’s instructions.
“When he got to the restroom, all he did was take a deep breath and say, ‘OK, Mom, just tell me what I need to do,'” says the author. According to Ashly.
This incredible 10-year-old from Sulphur, Louisiana, turned the baby around and assisted in his delivery on the bathroom floor of their Sulphur home.
His baby sibling, on the other hand, was not breathing when he was finally out.
Ashley told KPRC News 2 that he didn’t appear to be breathing and that his feet were purple.
The 36-year-old mother of two warned Jayden that he would have to deliver his brother immediately because the baby couldn’t breathe.
According to Today, Jayden responded, “Tell me what I need to do, and I’ll do it.”
Jayden immediately dashed to the kitchen, where he retrieved a nasal aspirator, which he usually saves for his sister, and saved his brother’s life.
Her newborn boy began to breathe just as an ambulance came, and both mother and child made a full recovery from their tragedy.
“I was crying,” Ashly admitted, “but I simply tried to keep calm and collected.” “Jayden’s calmness helped me feel calmer.” I could tell he was terrified, but he knew he had to go through with it.”
Of course, his mother was ecstatic with her young kid, and Ashly’s spouse, Kersey Richard, described him as “brave” and claimed he did something unusual.
“It makes me cry every time I think about it,” Ashly remarked. “I don’t believe Jayden realizes what he’s done or how significant it is.”
Doctors say Jayden saved his infant sibling and mother, according to media accounts. If the small child hadn’t been present, Ashly would have bled out during delivery.
Jayden was later recognized for his bravery by the mayor and Sulphur first responders at his school. Kids are so much more than we give them credit for, as seen by our amazement at this. They are extremely intelligent and know far more than we do!
What an incredible young man Jayden is, and he’ll always have a special link with the sibling he saved. Angels come in all shapes and sizes, including that young guy right there!
