Animals continue to astound us with their cerebral abilities in areas that we previously thought exclusively pertained to humans.

This is the amazing moment when a blind elephant performs a small dance to live classical music.

Paul Barton, a British musician, went his piano to an elephant sanctuary one day and began playing classical music to one of the elephants who were blind.

Lam Duan, the elephant, surprised everyone with her response, swaying and stepping from side to side as though dancing to the live music.

Lam Duan, who has been blind for nearly her entire life, spends her days at the ElephantsWorld animal sanctuary in Thailand.

Despite her inability to see, she appreciates the music and reacts to it as if she can.

Lam Duan isn’t the only elephant who enjoys Barton’s live concerts; in fact, a large number of elephants appreciate the relaxing piano music.

Most elephants, according to Barton, react to music by moving closer to the piano or suddenly starting to move around.

When they hear the wonderful melody of the piano, some stroke it with their trunks, while others sway from side to side.

Some elephants even attempted to sing along to the music, to the extent that their trunks would allow it.

Here’s a video of them trying to sing along with the song:
