Homeschooling your children has been found to provide them with “greater life satisfaction” and may not have a detrimental social or emotional impact. This is because home education is also considered social, and it may even help your children achieve more success in life. However, deciding to homeschool them is a significant decision, as various factors such as finances, devotion, and time must all be considered in order for it to be successful.
We gathered celebrity parents and their children who choose to educate their children at home, as well as the reasons for their decision.
1. Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith
Will and Jada both feel that homeschooling their children was critical to their health and happiness. Their decision to educate their children outside of a school setting stemmed from their extensive travel schedule, but they also believe that the educational system (both public and private) is “built for the industrial period,” but we are all living in the technological age. They don’t want their children to memorize facts; instead, they want them to learn.
2. Kris Jenner and Caitlyn Jenner
Kendall and Kylie struggled in school since they missed so many classes owing to their occupations, and they weren’t able to be fully creative in the classroom, leading them to lose interest in continuing.
They did, however, apply to Novel Education, a homeschooling firm that assists people who travel frequently. They had the opportunity to choose the courses they wanted to pursue while also building a successful profession.
3. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie
“We live in a different period,” Angelina Jolie argues, “and the educational system hasn’t caught up with our children or our way of life.” Because her family travels frequently, she prefers that her children spend their time doing activities they enjoy, such as visiting a museum or reading a favorite book, rather than rushing through their homework.
Angelina didn’t want her adoptive children to be deprived of their heritage. She wished for them to gain a better understanding of their cultural backgrounds. To connect with her children, she recruited a Vietnamese-speaking tutor and an African-American instructor.
4. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes
Due to Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise’s hectic work schedules, homeschooling their daughter Suri was the best option. Suri has a teacher who works with her every day, and they both appreciate the one-on-one instruction. Katie claims that her kid is strong-willed and determined and that it’s crucial to follow her lead.
5. Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony
Emme and Max, Jennifer Lopez’s twins, are her children. She considers them to be content, well-adjusted, loving, and caring children. Jennifer claims that the most essential thing for them is to spend time with their mother so that they don’t feel abandoned by a parent, which is why homeschooling was an excellent choice for the family.
6. Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin
The British education system, according to Gwyneth and Chris, “lacks traditional qualities of classical thought and learning.” They desired a tutor who was amusing, athletic, youthful, easygoing and enjoyed life.
They expected the tutor to accompany them wherever they went, teaching their children, Apple and Moses, Greek, Latin, and French, as well as sailing and tennis instruction.
7. Michael Jackson
While Michael Jackson was alive, his children were homeschooled, and he was fiercely protective of them. He told his daughter, Paris, that she could be “an astronaut, a vet, and a nurse” if she wanted to.
For the first 12 years of her life, she was homeschooled, and her only encounters were with family members or other adults. She claimed she lacked social skills and had to drive herself to learn quickly, but she has become quite adept at it over time.
8. James and Kimberly Van Der Beek
This loving family has attempted “several varieties” to educate their children, including traditional homeschooling. Kimberly describes it as an incredible experience and advises parents who are considering homeschooling their children not to be concerned.
She considers school to be a type of incarceration, and she believes that professors place far too much pressure on students. They are taught what to do and what they should learn for hours. Children must learn to make their own decisions in order to grow up to be strong, creative, and self-sufficient.
9. Richard Williams
Richard Williams, Serena’s father, homeschooled her and her sister, Venus. Because their professions were dependent on sports, it was critical that they devote more time to tennis, therefore their father homeschooled them from elementary school through high school. They would have more time to devote to tennis as a result.
