Some people have a wonderful inherent ability to connect with animals. Creatures appear to be drawn to some people as if they were cartoon animals in a Disney movie.
Maya is one of those individuals.
With animals, this little child is a natural. Her father also showed off his daughter’s exceptional talent in a lovely video.
It all happened when the family was unpacking their van after returning home from a canoeing vacation. They observed a fawn in their front yard while doing so.
Maya is seen standing on the driveway with the thing approaching from the grass in the footage. Although some children might act out excitedly, she remains calm, crouches down, and begins silently calling it over with a hand signal.
Surprisingly, the newborn deer approaches the tiny girl. Maya maintains her composure and extends her hand to the animal, allowing it to become at ease in her presence.
Dad Brad Herring is a videographer, and he was able to capture significant moment on camera.
She understood the animal “needs its mother,” according to Brad. Despite how beautiful the encounter was, Maya wanted to assist in reuniting the baby with its mother in the woods.
They assumed the doe was out in the woods, eating and resting after giving birth.
The following is taken from the WildCare website:
“A doe will leave her fawn in an isolated spot for as long as 12 hours to keep predators away from her baby while she forages for food in order to keep her young safe.”
The fawn follows Maya wherever she goes. Brad records his daughter walking across their yard towards the woods, accompanied by a newborn deer. Maya turns and smiles at the camera at one point, as though she is enjoying the experience.
She makes a cute motion with her hand, indicating that she wants to follow.
“The fawn had a wonderful sense about Maya and followed her every move,” Brad writes in the YouTube video description. From the minute they met, they were inseparable.”
