If you recall your first day of school, you probably recall feelings of anxiety and tension.
Of course, not every youngster feels these emotions, but it’s fair to say that many are anxious about leaving home on their own and embarking on an adventure into the unknown.
Axel, a young youngster, was undoubtedly one of them. Despite Amy Johnson’s promises that everything would be OK, he was struggling with the notion of being separated from her.
When Isabel Lane, the bus driver, drew up to collect Axel, she instantly recognized his fear.
“When he saw me around the corner, he was all joyful,” Isabel added. “After that, I began to slow down.” And it was at that point that you could see his face begin to shift.”
Amy helped Axel onto the nearest bus seat by lifting him up. She then attempted to take a photo of her son as a memory for the future.
But it would be more difficult than anticipated. Axel started grabbing for Amy as soon as she started walking away. Then, the bus driver, Isabel did something incredibly amazing: she reached behind her and took Axel’s hand in hers.
Amy was able to obtain the snap she needed thanks to that reassuring gesture. She shared it on Facebook, where it quickly became a hit with others.
The image was even shared by the local police department, who praised Isabel for assisting Amy through a tough moment.
“I didn’t think it was that big of a deal, to begin with.” “I suppose this is something I’d do,” Isabel later explained.
According to reports, Isabel’s tiny act of comfort was exactly what Axel needed. The next day, the 10-year-attitude old’s was different: he waited at the bus stop on his own and said hello to Isabel before boarding.
