The kitten had a slim chance of surviving the landing, but he was fortunate.
The hungry life in the frigid entrance has now been abandoned. A woman who handles one of the overexposures that I supervise helped the kitty recover. She carried the infant out the door and to the veterinarian. The kitten recovered and gained weight a month later. He grew into a lovely and energetic kitten.
That is a typical scenario, except that not all animals are fortunate enough to encounter such a woman or people like her on their journey. When it comes to street animals, I frequently experience indifference. But I’m outraged that none of my people not only refused to care for the infant but also refused to feed and water him. We attempt to save everyone, even if it often costs money and puts us in debt.
People contribute their savings to animals that are absolutely unfamiliar to them in order for them to receive treatment and live. At the same time, there are individuals who quietly walk past a young kitten starving to death just a few meters from his apartment door…
