A four-year-old stray cat miraculously survived being hit by a bus.
The cat was plainly injured, yet she fled as passers-by attempted to assist her.
The injured cat was reported to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) Southridge Animal Centre, which spent almost two weeks looking for her. The injured cat was found 16 days later after posting on social media, contacting local veterinarians, and hanging ads.
She was brought to a veterinarian, who began treating her severe head injuries right away. She was quite weak and underweight due to a smashed jaw that stopped her from eating. After the accident, one of her eyes was damaged and had to be removed.
“It’s a marvel she survived with those horrible injuries, especially since they left her unable to feed,” Southridge assistant manager Mona Jorgensen said. She demonstrated that she was a tough enemy.”
Trudie was given to her by the staff after St Gertrude, the Patron Saint of Cats.
The determined feline spent the following six months regaining his strength and winning the hearts of everyone on staff. While no one wanted to see Trudie go, it was clear that she needed to find a loving forever home.
Trudie is “cheeky, friendly, and lively; she’s such a character and will bring so much joy to the right home,” according to animal care assistant Amy Hearne, who helped nurse her back to health. She’s still a kid who enjoys playing, but she’s also a wonderful cuddle bug who will curl up on your lap as soon as you sit down.”
Dennis Hooper and Shirley Carter stepped up to provide the adorable tortoiseshell with a forever home. “We’re great animal lovers, especially cats,” the pair explained, “and I knew I’d choose an animal who had gone through the worst so I could show them a nice life.”
The good news was published on Facebook for all of Trudie’s fans to see. “Do you remember this wonderful girl?” they wrote. Trudie, who miraculously escaped severe injuries after being hit by a bus, has made a full recovery and has now found her purrfect home!”
Trudie is adjusting well to her new surroundings. She has everything she desires and spends her days sunbathing and watching birds.
“She is amazing; she simply loves fuss and is a really darling,” Dennis stated in a report to staff. She is making excellent improvement. She enjoys spending time in the bright conservatory; she has her own chair, two armchairs, and a couch to pick from, so she goes around to nap in various locations!”
The workers and volunteers miss Trudie terribly, but Dennis asked them to see her whenever they wanted.
