Most people treat their pets as if they were human children, which is understandable given that they are family members.
When it comes to having actual human babies, people are constantly concerned about how their pets will react.
Will they be interested in the infant and intrigued about it? Will they be envious and demand all of the spotlights? Will they fall in love with the baby and have a special bond?
Romy Depraetere was concerned about this when she brought her newborn daughter Olivia home. She didn’t know how Jules, her British shorthair cat, would react to the baby, but they were eager to find out.
All of their problems vanished the moment they brought Olivia home to Jules.
Jules was drawn to Olivia right away and walked up to her car seat to examine her. Jules even gave her some gentle kisses on the head when they first met.
“Jules has had a thing for Olivia since the beginning. When he hears her sobbing or making noises, he attempts to crawl into her cot,” Olivia’s mother, Romy Depraetere, explained.
These two will undoubtedly grow up to be the best of friends.
They already have a particular link, and it’s made even more precious by the fact that Olivia was born on Jules’ birthday! Perhaps it was fate!
