Memphis the cat was abandoned at an animal shelter in Salem, Massachusetts, at the age of one, after his prior caretakers could no longer care for him.
Memphis was born with two noses and facial congenital abnormalities through no fault of his own.
Memphis was set to be euthanized at the animal shelter after his surrender… But then something miraculous happened.
A volunteer with The Odd Cat Sanctuary, a non-profit feline rescue group, sent a desperate plea to Tara Kay, the organization’s founder. Tara said yes without hesitation!
“He was born with a cleft lip, a malformed soft palate, and a smushed face.” Both nostrils work properly. He snores and breathes louder! But he’s fantastic,” Tara said.
Memphis, like any other cat, enjoys being petted and is the purr-machine.
The Odd Cat Sanctuary is the last resort for cats who have exhausted all other options. We’re thankful that The Odd Cat Sanctuary saw past his flaws and offered him a second chance at life!
Memphis will be available for adoption shortly, and we are confident that he will bring joy to his new family for many years!
Thousands of cats, whether they have two noses or not, are looking for their forever homes, just like Memphis.
