A cat discovered a bag containing “cocaine and heroin” and happily returned it to its owner. His owner, from St Pauls, Bristol, England, was taken aback when he discovered his pet “curled up” next to a plastic bag.
The cat returned home with a plastic bag holding 30 wraps of cocaine and heroin instead of mice or rats.
“Forget police dogs, we should start training up cats,” Avon and Somerset Police tweeted with the image. No arrests have been made in connection with the suspected drugs, according to a police spokesman, and the contents of the bag have yet to be assessed, although it is believed to contain class A substances with a street value of hundreds of pounds.
The unique capture has earned the cat praise.
Because it must be “mindful of their safety,” the Avon and Somerset force says it will not release any information about the cat or its owner.
