Janez Jeretic discovered Sally the cat abandoned in a park. The kitten was shot in the head but managed to survive. It wouldn’t have happened if Janez hadn’t been determined to give the kitten a second chance.
The kitten is paraplegic, according to x-rays and a trip to the veterinarian. Although it lived, it would never walk again. Janez had no such problems.
He used his college money to purchase a wheelchair for the crippled cat, which allows it to move about. Sally gradually learned to walk with it.
Years later, after Janez photographed her dressed as a mermaid, the cat became an Internet celebrity.
