Meet Mister Bruce Willis, the saddest stray cat who, after being adopted, has entirely converted into a happy cat.
The orange tabby cat had to spend six years on the streets, alone and unloved, before finding him forever home.
He was rescued by the Animal Humane Society in Minnesota when he was six years old. He was taken care of by the animal shelter, which also assisted him in finding a nice home. They posted Bruce’s tale on social media in the hopes of finding him a permanent home.
Thankfully, Bruce was adopted after a month by Sandra, a cat lover who fell in love with him after viewing his heartfelt message. She knew she couldn’t resist this sorrowful cat at that moment.
“I first spotted Mister Willis in a post from the Animal Humane Society of Minnesota in August of last year. His eyes had a certain quality to them that drew me in. He had a gloomy expression on his face. I knew I couldn’t do anything because my lease prohibited pets and I had no intention of obtaining a cat.
Nonetheless, I felt compelled to pay him a visit. In reality, he appeared even sadder, and I had to leave after only a few minutes because it was so upsetting. I kept returning to see him for some reason. He is FIV positive, which isn’t a major concern, but he contracted an upper respiratory illness while at an animal shelter with a number of other animals.
For a while, he was really sick. “I had hoped that he would be adopted, but he was still there week after week,” Sandra explained.
She persuaded her landlord to make an exception to the no-pet policy in the apartment. Sandra was finally able to bring the cat home after the landlord agreed.
Bruce moved in with Sandra and began a new life as a devoted pet.
“I eventually decided to approach my landlord for permission to get him, and I was pleasantly delighted when he agreed.” The next day, I brought him home. In only a few hours, he transformed from the saddest cat I’ve ever seen to the happiest cat I’ve ever seen. He didn’t leave my side all night and purred all night.”
Bruce had serious health difficulties as a result of years of living on the streets, including scars from battles with other cats, a healed eye injury, broken teeth, feline immunodeficiency virus testing positive, and immune system disorders.
“Mister Willis is infected with the FIV virus. The acronym FIV stands for feline immunodeficiency virus, and it’s not as frightening as it sounds. It simply indicates that his immune system is weaker than that of ‘normal’ cats. He had a cold, ear infection, and eye infection when I first acquired him from the shelter.
Because he’s FIV+, it was a little more difficult for him to fight it off, but he did, and I’m not aware of his sickness at all right now. I’m simply ensuring that I’m doing everything possible to keep him happy and healthy.”
He was “the loveliest and most lovable youngster,” despite his awful appearance and unfortunate fate. Bruce becomes more active as he adjusts to his new surroundings.
Mister Willis has changed dramatically in the year since he discovered love with his new owner.
Sandra shared Bruce’s images on social media, touching millions of people’s emotions. Of course, everyone is pleased to watch his progress.
She stated in the post, “It’s been a year since I got him, and he is now the happiest cat I know.”
“We’ve been together for a year and have had our ups and downs. For a while, he was really sick, and we had to take him to the vet on a regular basis. He was fortunate in that he was able to fight off all of the infections, and he is now a happy and healthy cat.”
