Eric Hertlein’s grandmother adores animals. At her home in Kansas, she enjoys taking care of stray animals. She provides them with beds and food on her enclosed porch. As a result, Eric usually expects to find stray cats on her front porch whenever he pays her a visit.
This time, though, he noticed that one of the kittens was different from the others. An opossum, not a cat, was the culprit.
It wasn’t until he pointed out the pointy nose and slender tail that his grandmother realized it wasn’t a cat.
She even gave him the name Tete, which surprised her but didn’t bother her in the least. “Well, he hasn’t troubled me yet, so I’m fine with him being here!” she exclaimed, her face beaming.
