When actor Dennis Quaid learned about a shelter cat in need of a home, he knew he had to adopt the cute feline because it was named after him.
In a literal sense.
The black tiny cat, who was living in a Virginia shelter, had been given the name “Dennis Quaid,” and when Quaid learned of this, he couldn’t help but adopt his namesake.
Dennis Quaid (the human) is an avid animal lover and co-host of the podcats The Pet Show, where he and his co-host Jimmy Jellinek discuss a variety of pet-related themes.
Dennis Quaid and his colleagues couldn’t believe their eyes when they contacted the Lynchburg Humane Society to ask about adopting the small kitten.
It took some convincing to the employees that this was actually happening, but Quaid and his team were eventually able to prove that they were who they claimed to be.
Dennis Quaid the Human and Dennis Quaid the Cat then had a short pre-meeting on Zoom.
Dennis Quaid the Cat moved from Virginia to California shortly after that.
Dennis Quaid and Dennis Quaid are now quite happy together, and Dennis Quaid has even created a Dennis Quaid Instagram feed.
Phew. “Dennis Quaids!” was a lot of “Dennis Quaids!”
George, the young cat’s new feline brother, has also become friends with the little cat.
He’s quite happy with his new great family and is looking forward to what the future holds for him.
This news has wowed the public, who are ecstatic for both Dennises.
