Doby is a cat with two noses, which he was born with.
Doby was taken to an animal shelter when he was a baby, and vets discovered he wasn’t like other cats. Doby was suffering from cerebellar hypoplasia, a disorder that causes the brain to shrink. He had a cleft nose and was shaky on his feet.
Doby was doing well at the sanctuary, despite his flaws. He developed a strong bond with a blind cat, who was soon adopted.
Doby grew shy and reserved as a result of this. Doby was immediately adopted when the staff realized he would do better with a foster parent and posted his images online. The cat was taken in by Jacqueline Santiago of the Friends for Life Rescue Network, who posted photos about him online.
One woman fell in love with Doby after seeing a few images of him on the internet. She noticed he had a cleft nose and began investigating cleft palate and cerebellar hypoplasia right once.
Jeanne adopted Doby after staying with Jacqueline for a few months. Doby became stronger and stronger over time, winning the hearts of the entire family. He’s a really happy cat, as Jeanne says. “He sings in the morning when he’s hungry, and he prefers to eat with us at his side,” she explains.
Jeanne is unconcerned about her congenital defect. He has difficulties breathing through it at times, but he’ll never suffer from Jeanne and her partner.
Doby is thrilled about his new home and is living life to the fullest. He cuddles with his parents all the time and behaves normally.
