Jaelle noticed unusual noises coming from her backyard on Valentine’s Day last year.
When she returned to check, she was astonished to discover an orange tabby cat standing in the snow, scratching at the door, begging her to allow her in.
Jaelle, a foster volunteer with Un Chat à la Fois, a kitten rescue organization in Quebec, Canada, welcomed the adorable feline right away.
She submitted a photo of the cat to Marie Simard, the founder of Un Chat à la Fois.
“She stated she was looking to help him because she knew we didn’t take adult cats,” Simard explained.
“I told her to send him to our partner clinic so he could be evaluated as soon as I saw the picture because it broke my heart.”
She said, “His face stated everything that needed to be said.” “He stood in front of her door for a while, and he didn’t try to flee when I instructed her to fetch him.”
The cat was taken to the veterinarian, where he was treated and cared for. He had frostbite, decaying teeth, and diabetes, and was covered with bite wounds, fleas, and ticks.
He would not have made it through that cold winter if he hadn’t asked for assistance.
The cat was appreciative and delighted to be in the company of those who had rescued him. “He was quite friendly to the clinic personnel,” Simard recalled.
“At the vet, he’d take his paw out of the cage so others could pet him.”
The cat was given the name Aslan after the lion from “The Chronicles of Narnia.”
Aslan’s health recovered after a few days of treatment and love at the clinic, and he was placed in a foster home, where he received love and care from his new foster mom.
Aslan adored his foster mother and made it clear that he was grateful to be by her side. Simard described him as a “really affectionate cat.”
“He likes to sleep near his foster mother.”
We’re relieved to learn that Aslan is living his finest life, complete with all of the pleasures he deserves.
He doesn’t have to fight for food or shelter, nor does he have to withstand the freezing temperatures. He has a wonderful family who adores him.
