Hubert is an 8-year-old cat who was acquired three months ago from a local shelter by his family. He had a lot of personalities and was spunky, according to the shelter employees.
So, when his human met him for the first time, they immediately fell in love with him and chose to bring him home.
Hubert’s mother, Laci Reamer, described his personality as “a grouchy old man who secretly loves and needs affection.”
The adorable kitten moved into Laci Reamer’s household and instantly made himself at home. Despite the fact that the shelter claimed he had always been an indoor cat, the family realized he was completely enamored by the vast outdoors.
As a result, he was always eager to get away and go outside to play whenever he could.
“On a regular basis, he tries to flee,” Reamer added. “On one occasion, he was successful in his escape. We didn’t realize it until he began walking up the street! How can you miss a 31-pound cat trying to go out the door through your legs?
That’s right, you read that correctly. He weighs in at 31 pounds. He’s chubby yet energetic, he’s on a diet.”
The family did everything they could to keep him inside, but he still attempted to flee. Hubert used to sit behind his front door, waiting for someone new to open it. Then he’d exploit his shabby appearance to persuade them that he was allowed to go outside.
So, his family had come up with a humorous solution — putting up a sign.
“We made the sign because he had that look with those wide eyes that says, ‘Please help me.'” There’s a lot for me to see and do out there. “I’ll slide right by you if you just open that door,” Reamer remarked.
“We wanted to alert people because he’s quite skilled at begging.” We live on a busy street, and we don’t want him hurt!”
Hubert’s elaborate escape plans were foiled by the sign. Visitors want to keep him safe inside after viewing the sign, no matter what he does. The family is not trying to ruin his happiness.
They are merely concerned for his safety because they live on a busy street where their cat is not safe.
