When a family was cleaning out their house before a huge move, their cat was accidentally donated to a thrift store when they handed them an old recliner!
One day, employees at a thrift store in Denver, Colorado, heard meowing coming from a recently donated item – an old recliner. Montella, a ginger cat, was the source of the meowing. Before moving to their new home, his family had emptied their house of old furniture.
Montequlla had become comfortable in the recliner before it was donated to the thrift store. When a family was cleaning out their house before a huge move, their cat was mistakenly donated to a thrift store when they handed them an old recliner!
The employees requested that the cat be picked up from the Denver Animal Shelter. The cat, however, remained at the store after they discovered that its microchip had not been updated. Montequlla’s family discovered he was missing right away and went to the store to see if he was still there.
The family was overjoyed to see their much-loved pet again. Montequlla, I’m sure, was just as pleased to be back with his family. He had no idea that when he opted to take a nap inside the recliner, he would end up somewhere else, with his family searching for him!
On its Facebook page, the Denver Animal Shelter stated, “We are very glad for the ending to this tale and are thanks to everyone involved in getting this wonderful kitty home safely.”
