We’ve all heard about therapy dogs who assist children and adults overcome their anxieties or illnesses. What about cats, though? Cats aren’t particularly empathetic, or so we believed until now.
Truffles the cat, on the other hand, is not like that. Truffles is a cat who wears glasses herself to assist children to overcome their phobia of wearing them.
Danielle Crull, an optician, rescued the cat. The cat turned out to be a real darling after being adopted. For a kitty, she was quite astute. Danielle taught her how to sit and high-five people with the help of incentives.
Danielle had an idea to leverage Truffles’ bright mind for a good cause because she already owned an optometric ambulance. She began bringing the cat to the “A Child’s Eye” dispensary in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, after teaching her how to wear glasses.
Truffles became a new hero for children who were afraid of the optometrist or wearing glasses. While she isn’t quite a therapy cat, she does assist children in realizing that wearing glasses is beneficial to them. So far, everything has gone smoothly, with Truffles proving to be the unlikely hero that many children deserve.
