Leona Klassen and her husband, Ron, were traveling along a snowy road in Canada last weekend when they came across a scene they will never forget.
Five beautiful lynx were out for a stroll in the snowy winter environment just a few yards from the road.
It was just a matter of time until the couple pulled over for a better look.
“We were taken aback,” Klassen recalled. “Neither of us had ever seen a lynx before, let alone five of them in a pack.”
In the freezing February air, the normally elusive wild cats appeared unconcerned as Klassen began taking photographs of them. Their long, fluffy coats kept them warm and comfortable.
The group was “silent and serene,” she recalled. “They were aware of our presence, but didn’t appear to be bothered by it.”
Klassen and her husband stood and watched as the lynx walked gracefully through the snowy landscape, obtaining a close-up view of the dynamics of their family group in the process.
“It was the mother who brought them all to a halt. And as she moved, the rest of the group did as well “Klassen expressed himself. “The mother was almost regal in her appearance. My breath was taken away by her!”
The breathtaking meeting came to an end not long after when the wild cats crossed the road and continued on their journey.
Despite the fact that their sighting of the lynx was brief, the lucky pair will cherish this event for the rest of their lives.
“It was certainly a once-in-a-lifetime experience that neither Ron nor I will ever forget!” says the author. Klassen expressed himself.
