Meet Llew, a wonderfully fluffy cat who has been waiting for his forever home for 324 days in a shelter.
Llew, who is 15 years old, is regarded as “a character” and “a wonderful boy on his own terms.”
That means he’ll readily approach strangers for strokes, but if you don’t meet his particular requirements, he’ll tell you.
The elderly gentleman came into the RSPCA’s custody as a stray from a veterinarian’s office.
He wants to live in a retirement home where he can be left to his own devices and enjoy his golden years in peace, with lots of toys to play with.
There are a few reasons why Llew has been overlooked by prospective pet owners for months.
For starters, he’s an older cat, and many people will pass on an aging cat. If you ask us, it’s a sad disgrace.
Second, he has a cleft lip, which does not bother him, and we think he’s stunning.
Finally, he has a thyroid condition that will require him to take medication for the rest of his life. Llew will also need to go to the vet twice a year for a blood test, which will be done under anesthesia because he doesn’t like it.
All of this means that Llew needs an experienced cat owner who will not be turned off by his unique requirements, as well as a home free of other pets and children.
