For a small puppy who must grow up in a shelter, life can be difficult. But for this cute rescue puppy, things became even worse when she had to be placed under anesthesia. Fortunately for her, she was in the most caring hands possible.
Dennis Moses, a surgical assistant at Baltimore’s BARCS Animal Shelter, loves his profession above all else, but he adores animals even more. Moses is there to bring comfort to any animal at the clinic who requires it. That’s exactly what happened to Meesha, a little puppy.
Meesha and her sibling were just 6-weeks-old when they were placed at the shelter by their prior owner. Despite this, the two puppies quickly began to adjust to their new surroundings. When Meesha had to be spayed, however, she was terrified and had no idea what was going on when she awoke from anesthesia. But the sweetest man was there to console her.
“If you’ve ever had surgery, you wake up not knowing where you are,” Moses explained. “Even for dogs and cats, it’s a terrible situation, especially when they’re young and in a shelter.”
The concerned veterinarian can be seen cradling the bewildered puppy in his arms, speaking in her ear, and kissing her. This occurred soon after surgery. The volunteers at the center captured the wonderful scene on camera. The clip was shared online by BARCS Animal Shelter, and it quickly went global, with millions of people falling in love with the moment!
The shelter reported, “Baby Meesha was coming off the anesthesia and was a little scared since her body felt so strange.” “To console her, BARCS Surgical Assistant Dennis Moses brought her out into the quiet hallway.”
