This woman is a real dog-saver, and they are not one, ten or twenty… Read on about her devotion below…

Trisha Kennamer, a resident of Henagar, Alabama, has become a true friend to animals over the past eight months. Up until a couple of years ago, she spent the majority of her time homeschooling her kids, but the youngest was set to graduate.

She began to think of different directions in which to go, but ultimately, her love of animals won over.

Kennamer went on a trip with a friend to relocate dogs from a high-kill shelter to another and knew she had found her vocation. Leslie Ledbetter, the director of the adoption center in Dekalb County, phones Kennamer whenever puppies arrive at the high-kill shelter.

The puppies haven’t left the intake area yet, so they’re less likely to catch infections on the main shelter floor. Kennamer then drives to the shelter, bathes the puppies, and brings them home. She has them vaccinated and dewormed once they arrive.

She keeps them there to keep an eye on their health before transporting them to Georgia’s no-kill shelters and rescues. She has saved the lives of 264 puppies so far, including two who found their way into the Kennamer family’s hearts.

Along the way, she even rescued a bunny. She was filled with delight when she saw one of the pups she rescued on the Puppy Bowl recently. She learned that Gordon had been adopted and stated that it is for this reason that she performs what she does.

Trisha, thank you for being a great animal hero!

She’s already accomplished a lot for rescue canines, but she’s not done yet.
