Humans aren’t the only ones who experience the effects of aging. Our pets, like us, go through the aging process.
Our pets can often become “grumpy” as they get older. When he reached the age of thirteen, we had a cat who turned into a true grandfather with his demeanor.
While senior pets are valuable in and of themselves, they are frequently disregarded at animal shelters. It’s a sad reality, but it’s the truth. People tend to gravitate towards the younger, more lively animals, hence elderly animals are sometimes overlooked for adoption.
It’s heartbreaking to realize that so many senior dogs and cats are abandoned simply because they are elderly. When one man went to his local shelter to look at canines that were available for adoption, he discovered that many of the animals had previously received numerous applications.
He soon saw, however, that there was one small puppy in a kennel that had no one waiting to adopt him.
Rocky was the name of the little dog, and he was already a senior dog. He was described as a grouchy old man because he was missing a lot of teeth.
Nobody was ready to take a chance on the cute little puppy because of his age and attitude. But it was precisely this quality that endeared the man to Rocky, and he decided to give him a second chance at life. And it turned out to be a fantastic decision!
Rocky showed that he still had a lot of life and love in him, and he went on to live the greatest life he could in his new home, where he was pampered like a king!
