A remarkable animal story occurred just a few days ago in the United Kingdom. A cat that had been missing for over seven months was miraculously reunited with her family. When a cat invaded the pitch, the owners were watching a soccer game live on TV. It turned out to be their long-lost pet!
A cat run on the pitch disrupted an English third-tier football match between Sheffield Wednesday and Wigan Athletic earlier this month. It didn’t take long for one of the players to catch the cat, which appeared to be a stray, and transport her to the stands. But the most amazing part of the narrative was still to come.
The cat was transported to a vet’s clinic by a spectator in the Hillsborough Stadium in Sheffield, England. She appeared to be hurt, yet she appeared to be in good shape. She even had a microchip, which made it much easier for the vet to locate her owners. The cat spent the night at the clinic.
Meanwhile, Allison Jubb’s daughter-in-law was watching the soccer game and was certain that the ‘pitch invasion cat’ looked just like the family’s missing cat Topsey, so she called her mother-in-law.
“Last night, while they were watching the game, my daughter-in-law called me and reported there was a cat on the football pitch,” Allison added. “I just shrugged it off.” Topsey had vanished for good, and the woman had given all hope of ever finding him. However, it turned out that it was the same cat.
“She vanished in June of last year,” the woman told the BBC. “We were leaving, and I was delivering her to a cattery, and she got out of the cat box, and we never heard from her again.”
However, she received a call from the vet, who confirmed that the cat was really Topsey. Regardless, the cat will stay under the care of the veterinarian for a few more days due to her wounds. Let’s hope Topsey recovers completely and returns home because such a story deserves a happy ending.
