A 2-year-old cat has been rescued from euthanasia and re-homed after bearing a striking similarity to Count Dracula with his one enormous eye and exceptionally long fangs. The Persian cat’s previous owner was planning to put him down until a couple at a nearby veterinarian fell in love with him and saved him. Despite Fang’s health worries, Daya Hall-Stratton and her boyfriend Ethan disclose that they wanted him straight away.
Fang was diagnosed with Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD) and a feline herpes virus-related eye infection when he went to the clinic. His eye had to be removed due to infection, and the cat needed a home without other cats. Fortunately, Stratton’s house was the perfect fit for Fang, as it was animal-free, and the woman was willing to care for him. Fang and his new owner went home together, and the two have never looked back.
Fang’s odd appearance has garnered him a lot of fans on Reddit, and Stratton’s friends continue to be impressed by him. His fangs are the product of an underbite, as it turns out. Stratton says she has put the cat on a specific diet and is prepared to deal with it in the future, despite the fact that the cat may have periodic flare-ups of FLUTD.
“Fang is a very friendly and nice cat,” she also admits. He prefers to be close to us and a little higher than us, such as on the back of the couch… At night, he’ll sleep on our pillows or at our feet.”
