Master-at-Arms of the United States Navy When Dawn Patterson returned to the United States after her deployment, she had to leave her pet in Bahrain.
Master-at-Arms of the United States Navy Dawn Patterson is looking for assistance in reuniting with her cherished cat, whom she rescued while stationed overseas.
According to a release from the group Paws of War, Patterson was unable to bring her cat, Mr. Grumpuss, with her when she departed Bahrain to return home to Virginia for a new deployment owing to logistical issues.
During her fourth tour overseas, the Navy service member rescued Mr. Grumpuss, who is known for his grumpy appearance. She discovered the stray cat and helped nurse it back to health, getting inextricably linked to the animal in the process.
“His grumpy expression always makes me laugh. He’s like a safety net for me “In the press release, Patterson remarked of Mr. Grumpuss.
Patterson is working with Paws of War, a nonprofit that supports military troops and their pets, to raise cash and handle the hard logistics of transporting the cat to the United States.
“This is a nightmare that no pet owner wants to go through,” Paws of War co-founder Robert Misseri said in a statement.
“We were fortunate to have someone foster the cat while we try to raise cash and make the necessary preparations to safely return Mr. Grumpuss to his Navy commander,” he added.
Patterson, who has spent 17 years in the Navy, is looking forward to seeing Mr. Grumpuss again.
“If Paws of War can assist me in reuniting with him, I will be eternally grateful. My child must be lonely and perplexed “she stated “I’m sure he’ll be just as excited to see me.”
