Pregnant stray kittens, in particular, must exercise extreme caution because they do not want harm to happen to their kids and require stability to care for them.
One expectant street cat understood she needed a safe haven for the time being, a home that would provide warmth and nutrition for her young.
So, after being fed by a family once, she decided to return to the same house every day to feed herself and hope to be welcomed in.
Every day, she sat in the cold by the window, waiting for someone to feed her. The family noticed that she was bringing a lot of food with her.
They then decided to contact a local cat rescue organization to see what they could do to assist her.
Nadia, the rescuer, took her to Chatons Orphelins Montréal, a rescue organization in Montréal, Canada, where she was adopted by a foster family who had no idea she was pregnant.
The cat, now known as Laloue, is settling into her new life in her foster home, where she had four healthy tabby babies.
Laloue was used to grafting for herself, so when she was picked up by Nadia, she jumped right into it.
She didn’t mind being transported around until a foster family could be found for her. Laloue quickly dived in for cuddles when her new owner Louise arrived to pick her up. She was relieved to be out of the freezing streets.
Mama Laloue has been fussing over her little tabbies and keeping an eye on them while purring beside them.
The kittens opened their eyes at ten days old and are now healthy weights, eating every day.
We’re just relieved that they’re all safe and sound.
