John Hwang is a photographer who frequently visits the Baldwin Park Animal Shelter to take photos of the animals and assist them in finding permanent homes, but on one particular day, he was unable to do so.
Hwang was strolling through a section of the shelter that isn’t typically visited, a section where animals are kept in kennels until they can get checked out, when he felt a small paw reaching for him.
Turns out, a cat named MeowMeow was attempting to reach out to John in order to catch his attention and possibly persuade him to adopt the feline, which he felt obliged to do but couldn’t because his wife is allergic to cats.
Nonetheless, the two enjoyed a delightful time together, and John even snapped a beautiful portrait of the kitty in the hopes that it would help him find a home, as his wonderful photographs have done in the past!
