A gang of adorable cats claim ownership of the town’s Christmas tree… Watch the video here…

Although the Christmas season is over and will come again not that soon, we want to share with you a beautiful story of a Christmas tree and the city cats. Scroll down to learn more.

In Lucera, Italy, the seasonal festive centerpiece was more than just a Christmas tree.

It’s also a favored hangout spot for a merry band of felines from the area.

A Cuperte de Natale, a cultural organization, commissioned the tree, which wasn’t actually a tree. It’s a cluster of small wooden cottages supposed to represent the town’s togetherness in staying at home to prevent COVID-19 from spreading.

“The tree grabbed the attention of Lucera’s furriest locals even before it was finished, who saw the little dwellings as more than just symbolic.

A family of stray cats lives in the square where the tree was erected. The natives take good care of them,” The Dodo spoke with Luigi Conte, the association’s president.

The animals were overjoyed with how the tree turned out after all was said and done.

The cats quickly claimed the tree as their own, much to the delight of all who helped build it.

“The tree was designed to make a statement about the tough conditions in which we find ourselves. However, it was later converted into a cat sanctuary and entertainment park,” Conte explained. “This year, they’re the stars of Christmas, bringing the tree to life. It was the ideal result.”

As you can see, the cats and their antics make the cutest Christmas decorations.
