Pumba only wants to love and be loved.
Pumpa spent much of his life with a family who didn’t think of him as much more than breeding stock, but despite their ambivalence about the senior canine, he loved them and only wanted to be a nice dog.
Pumba imagined he’d remain with them for the rest of his life, but his family had other ideas.

Pumpa spent much of his life with a family who didn’t think of him as much more than breeding stock, but despite their ambivalence about the senior canine, he loved them and only wanted to be a nice dog.
Pumba imagined he’d remain with them for the rest of his life, but his family had other ideas.
Pumba couldn’t believe he’d been abandoned by his family.
They’d come back for him, no doubt.
So he kept waiting.
Without Pumba’s family returning, days passed to weeks and weeks to months.
Pumba, on the other hand, was adamant about not giving up.
Even after a year of waiting and fending for himself, the puppy remained in his former neighborhood and planned to return to his old home if his family returned.
Some of Pumba’s neighbors felt sorry for him and offered him bits of food, but Pumba continued to live a hard and perilous existence on the streets alone.
Thankfully, Hope for Paws (HFP) learned of the senior dog’s plight and rushed to assist him.
Pumba was tracked down by HFP members JoAnn Wiltz and Lisa Arturo, who tried to persuade him to enter their cage.
Even though Wiltz and Arturo tried to entice him in with food, Pumba remained apprehensive of the two strangers and refused to enter the cage.
Wiltz and Arturo decided to take a more personal approach and gradually earned his trust by providing him food and allowing him to eat directly from their hands.
Pumba allowed the two women to place a leash on him and bring him to their car once he realized they were there to help him.
Pumba was rescued and taken to the vet, where he was given a thorough examination and the care he required.
He was subsequently put in a loving foster home, where he received all of the love, care, and attention he deserved.
Pumba has transformed into a bright, cheerful, and loving pup in this new, safe, and caring home, and it’s evident that he now feels content and comfortable.
Pumba will be eternally thankful to his saviors and looks forward to spending the rest of his life with people who adore and respect him.
