A 1.5-pound rescue cat was brought to the clinic with a badly wounded paw. She refused to eat at all until someone petted her, at which point she began to eat.

Dr. Ostermann of Tails of a Shelter Vet wrote, “When I opened the cardboard box that contained the kitten, I saw a small white and gray cat that quickly hissed at me.”

The kitten was put on therapy right away to help her feel better and combat the infection that had already set in.

“We provided her with food and a warm, padded bed. Despite the fact that she had food at her disposal, she was uninterested. She was discovered to only eat when she was petted, and she would stop eating as soon as the caressing ended. As a result, the shelter personnel made sure to accommodate the cat by giving her special attention to ensure she had the nutrition she needed.”

“The kitten recovered rapidly from anesthesia on a warm comfortable bed with food and lots of petting to stimulate her to eat,” said the shelter’s veterinarian team.

The kitten began to trust and love people. She finished all of the food she needed to get stronger with a lot of aid and care from the veterinarians, and the tiny companion healed swiftly.

Tails of a Shelter Vet told the wonderful people, “She healed up and a rescue took her in to find her a permanent home.”
