Munchie is a small kitten-sized 7-month-old cat. Due to his unique illness, he only weighs roughly 1.7 kg and will not grow much larger. Munchie is one of just two cats in the world that suffers from this illness. However, since he’s so cute, he never fails to bring a smile to his human’s face!
Munchie was taken to a Wolverhampton veterinary facility in September 2019, where his current owner, Emily Tomlinson, 29, works. Munchie was suspected of being dumped and left alone when he was approximately three or four weeks old, and Emily thinks this was a consequence of Munchie’s condition. It has no effect on his eyesight or everyday life, he is like any other cat.
Munchie had been discovered near the park and taken to the hospital by a woman. Emily fostered him for a week, but she ended up adopting him when no one claimed the kitten.
“He’s very normal, other from the fact that he’s a dwarf cat,” explains Emily, the kitten’s owner. He does have days when he is quieter and less fun, but this is due to his hypoparathyroidism, which manifests itself in a variety of ways, including tiredness and tingly feelings, among other things. While at home, he’s quite content to wander about and do his own thing. If he wants attention, he would come to me and seek it out; he enjoys cuddling, sleeping on me, and pressing his face against mine all the time.”
Muncie is a Siamese cat that was adopted by Emily from the RSPCA. Emily claims that she “fell head over heals” in love with Munchie when she first saw him at the shelter.
Once he arrived at his new house, he was introduced to his new family members, each of whom reacted in a different way to him at first. Nonetheless, after a while, everyone began to get along, and Munchie became fast friends with Bella and Junior, as well as Aslan.
