Sophie and her kitten sister spent the majority of their days in Kuwait, snoozing on the comfy chairs of a little café.
That’s where they met Basil Akwan and his fiancée, two regular shop customers who fell in love with the animals right away.
They would bring them small goodies every day and lavish them with care.
The cats were overjoyed, and Sophie, in particular, grew bonded to Akwan. As a result, she began following him to his car one day and hopped in as soon as he opened the door.
Akwan, who already had a warm spot for the cat, couldn’t bear the thought of abandoning her. Instead, he brought her along and had her examined by a veterinarian.
After all, he knew straight away that Sophie would spend the rest of her life with him.
Basil Akwan can’t get enough of his cat.
He decided to share their poignant story in a short TikTok video, which went viral almost instantly.
The video has now received over two million views and nearly 300,000 likes.
“She adopted you!” wrote one of them, while another remarked, “This is the best type of love story!” Congrats.”
Akwan also disclosed in an interview that his partner has agreed to adopt Sophie’s younger sister.
“It’s a wonderful relationship. It’s wonderful to have such unconditional love, and knowing that I can return to this little fluff every day makes my days better “Akwan remarked.
