Zeus, the blind Western Screech Owl, is not like the other owls. He was found hurt and afraid on a patio in Southern California following an accident caused by his blindness.
He couldn’t be released after being nursed back to health by veterinarians due to his loss of vision, which would make it difficult for him to survive in the wild.
Zeus has found a permanent home at the Sylmar Wildlife Learning Center, where he is currently living on top of a filing cabinet in the office of Paul Hahn, the Center’s founder.
The most astounding feature you notice right away is Zeus’ extraordinary starry eyes, which are caused by fibrin and blood pigment clots.
People are frequently taken aback when they see Zeus open his eyes, according to the Wildlife Learning Center’s website, and are occasionally moved to tears upon meeting this very unique little owl.
Zeus’ condition is fortunate in that it does not cause him discomfort, and he is now being cared for by Paul and the Wildlife Center’s team.
